* Gift Aid
Fundraising is a big part of FOPV life and one easy way of doing this is by allowing us to collect Gift Aid from your subscription. If you use the Pay Pal method of payment above please tick this box to confirm you are willing to allow the FoPV to do this. Gift Aid is then reclaimed by the FoPV from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.
Pressing the submit button when making your payment is taken as your confirmation and agreement with this statement;
If you are not a UK taxpayer, or for any other reason you are not happy for us to do this, please ensure there is no 'tick' in the box before pressing the submit button.
Please notify the FoPV if you:
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
If you would
prefer to use a cheque please download the membership form here, fill it in (including
phone number and email address) and return it with your cheque to the address on
Remembering FoPV in your Will
We all have different priorities for family, friends and good causes that we might be able to help when we die.
If you think that it might be appropriate to include The Friends of Porter Valley as one of the beneficiaries of your estate please get advice from your solicitor when writing your will. If you would like to discuss this in confidence, please contact our Treasurer, David Young, in the first instance. David can be contacted via the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.
You might be interested to know that leaving 10% or more of a net estate to a charity will mean that the rest of the estate will be taxed at 36% instead of 40%.If you wish to change an existing will it is easy to make a Codicil to add a legacy for a beneficiary. You can download a Codicil for this purpose with details already completed for The Friends of the Porter Valley and some guidance notes.
Fundraise with easyfundraising
It’s Easy and it raises Funds for us – it’s easyfundraising!
If you shop online, please do it through easyfundraising (just click on the logo above to register) and use it whenever you shop.
Once you’re registered, you just go to easyfundraising.org.uk and then find the shop you want – including those shown here plus, Staples, B&Q, even thetrainline.com and Eurostar for train tickets! Each retailer gives a percentage of what you spend back to FoPV – and it doesn’t cost you anything.
And then there’s EasySearch, which you’ll also have access to when you’ve registered. Use it instead of Google, and every search raises 0.01p. Not much, but it’s money for nothing – just using a different search engine!
Up until now the money raised has gone into the Shepherd Wheel Fund, but future payments will go into the Forge Dam Fund.
If you’re interested but want some help, use the Contact Us link below and our resident expert will guide you through the process.
You can also register your credit card with easyfundraising which will allow high street retailers to make small donations to FoPV.
