FoPV Shop

It may be a little grand to call this a shop, however we have produced several items to help us raise some money for the FoPV. It's also manned by volunteers so please bear with us during holiday periods. Of course, buying any of the items listed here will be adding much needed funds to the FoPVs work. If you have any questions about any of items please use the Contact Us page.

Delivery

Please note that we can only deliver within the UK at the moment and have taken the decision to charge a flat rate for postage and packing, which we are confident covers our costs for single and multiple purchases. We will endeavour to send the item/s you have ordered as soon as possible, and will contact you if there are any problems.

If you require any of our items delivering outside the UK, please use the Contact Us page and we can discuss options and costs.

“It were hard work, but it were enjoyable. When you’re out in the field, singling turnips and things like that, it were pleasant. You were your own boss.”  Peter Woodhouse, farmer in the Mayfield Valley.
In this book, based on an oral history project conducted by the Friends of the Porter Valley, memories of growing up, working, and living in a Yorkshire community are documented. Through memories such as skipping Sunday School to collect snails, milking your first cow as a right of passage, exploring haunted houses, being clobbered with a plimsoll for misbehaving, or watching bombs fall on Sheffield, a glimpse of twentieth-century life in the valleys is offered.
