About the event

Following on from our June walk looking at plants in the valley in early summer, this will be a very easy stroll to look at some of the plants of the valley in midsummer around Shepherd Wheel and Whiteley Woods, and how they fit into the ecology of the valley.

It  will be led by Gerry Firkins; he is a local botanist and has led field meetings and taught plant identification for Sheffield University, WEA  and the RSPB since the 1980s and is now a tutor for the Botanical  Society of the British Isles.

The cover photo is of angelica which grows around Shepherd Wheel dam.

Tickets are free for FoPV members using the emailed discount code and £5 for non-members.
