SoftWashingUK

Softwashing UK were asked to restore the Forge Dam Stones, which had not been restored for some time and subsequently had become contaminated with organic growth.

If you leave any surface for long enough growth will start to appear, as nature takes its course.

Restoring stones is specialist work as the dirt, grime , and growth, on a stones substrates cannot easily be removed without risking damage.

Softwashing UK were delighted to restore Forge Dam Stones using the restorations processes recommended by Historic England and the Victoria Cross Trust. We were invited to do this after restoring a lot of monuments in the area, including the Mi Amigo memorial which featured so extensively on BBC Breakfast News recently.
