FoPV Work Morning Roundup - Tuesday 28th April 2026

For our latest work morning our volunteers were on the bridle path down from Forge Dam removing a very invasive and non-native shrub, snowberry, which spreads rapidly and is difficult to remove, requiring digging out by the roots - no mean feat!

It was a great morning's work according to John who stepped in at the last minute to lead the session. The main area was all cleared, especially under a pile of logs which had to be dismantled to remove the snowberry and then rebuilt.

A builders bag was filled up with snowberry root and left behind the store awaiting Ranger Matt to remove.

Apparently Hugh brought along Mandy's honey and ginger cookies which are a favourite of mine, so annoying to miss it!

Many thanks to all the volunteers who came and helped.
