Hi Fopv volunteers, Many thanks to all who came to Forge Dam this morning in cold wintry conditions. Luckily the weather improved during the morning. We tackled a number of tasks including cutting back laurel, draining paths of standing water, more cutting back on the bank below Festival Woodland and some preliminary clearance near the silt trap. Hopefully the silt trap will be cleaned out soon as a preliminary step towards the desilting of the dam. Further information about the Forge Dam renovation project will be presented at the next FOPV Open Meeting at Bents Green Methodist Church on Wednesday 5th February, commencing at 7.30pm. The next work morning will be in the vicinity of the Lodge by the mini roundabout on Rustlings Road on Thursday 13th February, 10.00 am. Meet at the Whiteley Woods/ Bingham Park entrance off the mini roundabout at the Rustlings Road/Oakbrook Road junction. Hope to see you there and that the February weather will be kind. Dave Clegg
